The Farm and Earth Day

Parents,
We have been learning about Old MacDonald’s Farm and ways to protect our environment this week in class. We milked a cow (glove), made Baa Baa Black Sheep’s wool, drew pictures of our favorite farm animals and made farm animal puppets. We recycled bottles and cans and read books about various ways to recycle at home. The culminating event was a trip to DC Durrence Farms in Glennville, Georgia. We picked strawberries, went on a hay ride and ate a picnic lunch with parents and friends. Please peruse our photo gallery to view activities inside and outside of the classroom.

Parents,

We had a very busy week in school learning about various cultures and how they celebrate the holiday season!  We visited the Liberty County Board of Education to watch The Polar Express!  The students visited many offices upstairs to view the festive decorations and talk with the BOE staff.   We will continue our unit on Christmas around the World and complete many holiday projects next week.  Thank you for supporting our classroom in 2013.
